AfriGen-D Launches New Platform to Strengthen Human Genomics Capacity in Africa
The AfriGen-D hub is pleased to announce the launch of the AfriGen-D Platform, a new digital infrastructure designed to support human genetics and genomics research across Africa. The platform provides access to genomic tools, training resources, and data support services aimed at strengthening the skills and capabilities of researchers, clinicians, and students working in human genomics.
Developed through collaborative engagement with the African genomics community, the platform responds to the growing demand for accessible resources that support research, training, and knowledge sharing in human genetics and genomics.
The launch marks an important milestone for AfriGen-D as it transitions from platform development to operational service delivery, providing a centralized hub where users can access resources and participate in training opportunities.
The AfriGen-D platform aims to:
- Support researchers working with human genomic data
- Provide training resources and learning opportunities
- Facilitate collaboration across institutions and countries
- Strengthen genomics capacity across Africa
The platform launch event will introduce the AfriGen-D platform and highlight its role in supporting the evolving African genomics ecosystem.
